Aims: The aim of this document is to provide practical guidelines for the management of acute myocardial infarction in patients presenting with persistant ST-segment elevation. When compared with the last version of these guidelines in 2003, the most significant changes made in the current document relate to antithrombotic therapies and the choice between mechanical vs. pharmacological reperfusion.
